Is the president alluding to hypersonic missiles that have long been under development, things like scramjets, or is he talking about a completely new type of propulsion system, a completely new type of weapon?

Trump also said the new missile has “just gotten the go-ahead.”

His comments are particularly interesting when you consider the Navy’s run-ins with UFOs far faster than top-of-the-line fighter jets. The objects were operating with an entirely different type of propulsion system capable of instantaneous acceleration.

Were these UFOs a harbinger of things to come?
