Interesting examination here, but the author seriously misses the forest for the trees.

May I suggest the obvious: The Air Force’s “reticence” is not due to stubbornness or any other trivial motivation. The UFO secrecy is likely deemed necessary because the UFOs are Air Force. The UFOs are not Navy, they ARE Air Force. Therefore, allowing a civilian investigation would be risking the exposure of Air Force secrets.

Sometimes the simplest solution is the correct conclusion, as crazy and counterintuitive as it might appear.
